Our mission is to make our preschool a safer place for the children of our 3k and 4k programs.
Lowcountry Leadership Preschool is a preschool that services our small, rural community and is available to all children in our area. We provide after school services for working parents allowing for school and childcare from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm.
The preschool is housed in a trailer that is in desperate need of foundation repair. The $25,000 would allow us to do the necessary repairs to keep our preschool open and able to continuing serving our community. Our area has suffered record rainfall and hurricanes in the past few years and unfortunately the original foundation was not built to withstand the elements. The existing piers need to be removed and new footings and piers will be installed, which will consist of solid concrete reinforced footings in the ground, with CMU blocks connected to the piers with reinforcement, and prescribed strapping to hold the structure down in high winds. By fixing these issues, we will be able to serve our community's needs.
By repairing the structure, we are able to keep our preschool open and it will continue to educate and prepare our children to enter Lowcountry Leadership Charter School. The 3k and 4k program have tremendously prepared our children for Kindergarten by providing them a caring, structured and educational environment. The program is also important to the success of Lowcountry Leadership Charter School, a K-12, Title One school that most students will continue their education through. By fixing the building, our community will have a preschool for many, many years to come.
